Independent Americans for Change

About Independent Americans for Change

Independent Americans for Change (IAC) is a loosely-organized, cohesive group of individuals committed to bringing true change to the United States by identifying, promoting and supporting qualified, independent candidates for the House of Representatives.

We believe that real change begins with an expansion of the two-party system and that the House of Representatives is the perfect location to launch a new kind of politics. We believe that career politicians are part of the problem and that we need accomplished leaders from all walks of life who will serve their country for a limited tenure and then return to their jobs. We know that creating true change in our country will require time, energy, and investment from thousands of Americans. We think that the moment has come.

The IAC took root 20 years ago when Lee Brandenburg, a successful Silicon Valley businessman, was so fed up with our broken government and political system that he wrote his first book, The Captive American. Since then, he has seen things go from bad to worse. Realizing that the best way to create real change is to band together with like-minded individuals across the country, he founded the IAC based on the platform he laid out in The Captive American and expanded upon in his second book, 99 Reasons To Be Mad as Hell.

The IAC is not a traditional political party, and it does not function on a national or statewide level other than to support candidates for the House of Representatives on a district by district basis. While we have no official, centralized leadership, we do encourage supporters to work together, sharing ideas and strategies to achieve our goal of freeing our country from the stranglehold of the current system.

This website is a place for Independent Americans across the nation to come together and mobilize for the trench warfare that will be required to take back our country, district by district.
